ChatGPT Replacing Google Assistant?
If the recent reports are true, it will get more easy and convenient to use AI tools on smartphones. According to a report by Android Authority, there’s a new feature in the works that will allow users to have voice conversations with the ChatGPT and they will not be required to open the ChatGPT’s app manually. This feature will work largely similarly to the Google Assistant
As we mentioned, the upcoming feature will be similar to Google Assistant, but there is no clarity about the claim that Google Assistant will be replaced by ChatGPT on Android devices.
The Android Authority report mentions that a new version of the AI chatbot labelled version 1.2023.352 was recently pushed by the AI firm. In this update, a new feature or activity has been introduced which is called com. openai.voice.assistant. AssistantActivity.
It is said that this feature will be turned off by default and the Android devices and users will need to manually enable and activate it. It also mentions that this feature is still in the works to be fully optimized for Android devices. To access this feature, users will need a ChatGPT Plus subscription.
