Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro: Xiaomi, known for its smartwatches, is rumoured to be working on a new Wear OS wearable. This is a notable change for Xiaomi, which has typically opted for lightweight operating systems that prioritise battery life above app support. However, with the rumoured Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro, the company appears to be embracing Google’s Wear OS.
Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro expected features
The “Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro” is claimed to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon W5+ CPU, with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, making it an intriguing device simply based on its raw capability. The post goes on to mention a 1.43-inch display, stainless steel and Gorilla Glass construction, 5ATM water resistance, a rotating crown, optional LTE, and a massive 500 mAh battery.
Wear OS with MIUI
The Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro, most notably, will reportedly run Wear OS with an MIUI overlay on top. Wear OS formerly disallowed manufacturer skins, however, this has changed. It’s unclear what Xiaomi has planned for the software, but the smartwatch is expected to ship alongside the Xiaomi 13T in Europe for €349. At the moment, no US release is planned.
