IndiGo Airlines is frequently in the news for its employees’ terrible behaviour, and they are in the spotlight for the wrong reason again after a sufi musician shared a video showing its baggage staff roughhousing musical equipment before loading them on the plane. Bismil, a popular singer, shared a video in which staff can be seen tossing his musical instruments into a container.
“Indigo treats our instruments precisely like this!!! Indigo!! You must respect our instruments “Bismil posted a message on Instagram. In four hours, the post has received over 16,000 views, with other singers criticizing IndiGo for the manner he handles luggage, particularly fragile ones. “Disrespectful and shameful,” singer Ghulam Hasan Khan said in the tweet, while Indian Idol 10 finalist Vibhor Parashar called IndiGo “intolerable.”
Previous ‘Not your servant’ row
Last week, the low-cost carrier made headlines after a video of an air hostess having a heated discussion with a passenger went viral on social media. After a disagreement erupted about the food given on board, the air hostess attempted to reason with the passenger and asked him to talk gently with the personnel.
He continued to rage and scream at the air hostess, telling her to “shut up,” and she requested him to be mindful of his tone and abstain from speaking to the staff in such a manner. “Why are you yelling?” the passenger inquired, to which she replied, “Because you are yelling at us!” You’re ranting and pointing your finger at me.
“My staff is in tears because of you. Please try to comprehend that there is a cart and that counted meals are being lifted (on the plane). We can only serve what your boarding offers. I am not your servant; I am an employee.”
