Kangana Ranaut: Bollywood actress and BJP leader Kangana Ranaut, arrived in Maharashtra today and quickly became the center of attention. While addressing the media in Nagpur, Kangana expressed her support for Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s much-debated slogan, ‘Batoge to Katoge’. She also called the BJP a “Sanatani party” and did not hold back in criticising the Congress and other opposition parties.

Kangana Ranaut on ‘Batenge to Katenge’ Slogan

While speaking to reporters in Maharashtra, Kangana Ranaut shared her perspective on the ongoing debate around the slogan. She stated, “BJP is winning based on its work. The opposition focuses on dividing people by caste and religion. This slogan, ‘Batoge to Katoge’, is about unity. We have been taught since childhood that unity is strength. If we are together, we are safe and if we get divided, we will be cut…Our party is a Sanatani party. Our party even wants to take PoK together and the opposition’s conspiracy to divide is being unsuccessful…”

The slogan ‘Batoge to Katoge’ was introduced by CM Yogi Adityanath during an event in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, in August 2024. It referred to Bangladesh and aimed to emphasize unity. However, the statement has sparked political debates, particularly in Maharashtra, causing unrest within the Mahayuti Alliance.

Criticism from Opposition and Allies

The slogan has faced backlash from various political leaders. Ajit Pawar, NCP chief, openly criticized it, saying, “Slogans like these might work in the North, but they have no relevance in Maharashtra.” Several NCP leaders have also condemned the slogan. Additionally, notable BJP figures like MLC Pankaja Munde and former Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan have expressed their disapproval.
