We have different variety in bowling: Harmanpreet
Shafali Verma, the India Women’s opener, was dismissed for a quick 21 off 10 balls. Before falling to Ellyse Perry, Shafali had two fours and as many sixes in her batting. India Women captain Harmanpreet accepted that she too would have preferred to bowl first after losing the toss. She also discussed the rookie pacer Sarvani. Harmanpreet stated that “We wanted to bowl first. Batting isn’t that bad. We have one debutant. Anjali has been good and she brings in experience from domestic cricket. We have different variety in bowling. We want to continue with some good momentum.”
Ramesh Powar brings in a lot of experience
The Indian captain opened up about the choice to replace Ramesh Powar as the team’s coach with former all-rounder Hrishikesh Kanitkar in a statement on the eve of the series. The prominent batter explained ” I have always enjoyed working with Ramesh sir and we have grown as a team under him and learnt a lot. It’s a BCCI decision to move him to NCA and have him work as spin-bowling coach. Hrishi sir is there with us and we had a very good experience with him in Sri Lanka. He brings in a lot of experience and we are only looking forward. We are in right hands.”
