The process of displacement of Chinese troops under the agreement on the border of East Ladakh has been described by Army Chief General MM Narwane as India’s victory. China attempted to empower itself on LAC through its Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) project, but India’s plans did not materialize due to its strong and quick process. He has to pull back his steps by compromising with India, which is a victory for India in a way. He also said that there is no clear indication of a nexus between Pakistan and China.
Army Chief General MM Narwane on Wednesday said that India’s relationship with China will be as we would like. He said, “I think it is entirely the government’s thinking that our relationship with China will develop in the same way as our desire to develop it.” The Army Chief said that as a government, as a nation we have shown that our national interest is paramount in whatever solutions have been done. General Narwane further said that as a neighbor we would like peace and stability on the border and nobody wants any kind of instability on the border. According to PTI, on the matter of ending tension with China in Pangog Tso, General MM Narwane said that this is a very good result and a win-win situation for both the countries.

He said that there were no visible signs of collusion between China and Pakistan during the Ladakh standoff, but India plans a long-term strategy for two-and-a-half front fighting, not two together. He was referring to internal security with half-front. He said that right from the beginning all sides of the Indian side worked together during the deadlock with China. At the political level, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Foreign Minister S Jaishankar spoke to their Chinese counterparts.
