Gujarat News: In a shocking incident from Gujarat’s Patan district a group of villagers allegedly chopped off a Dalit Man’s thumb after his nephew picked up a ball during a cricket match at a school playground in the village. Later in the evening, a group of men armed with sharp weapons thrashed the boy and his brother. One of the accused chopped off the boy’s thumb and injured him. The accused also beat him mercilessly and left him in an unconscious condition.

Police registers FIR, probe underway
According to the FIR registered in the police station, the incident occurred after the tennis ball of an eight year old rolled down to the playground where the upper caste men were playing cricket. According to the complaint registered, one of accused scolded the victim and stopped him from doing so. The accused left him there for the time being but also threatened him to teach a lesson.. The victim was later taken to a nearby hospital where his condition is stable.
The SP of the Gujarat’s Patan district said that two men have been arrested and a team has been formed to nab the other accused. They have registered case against them under the SC/ST act.
