India Independence Day 2022: India is going to celebrate its 75th Independence Day this year. The Prime Minister of the country, Narendra Modi will hoist the flag on Red fort. This year Prime Minister has urged everyone to take part in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan’. In this abhiyan government has asked the people of the country to hoist the flag from August 13 to August 15. But today we have brought a very interesting fact about Independence Day about which very few people are updated.
First Flag was hoisted around 4 decades back years before the Independence
We all know that our country became independent on August 15, 1947. But very few people are aware of that when the tricolor of India’s national flag was first unfurled. You will be a little surprised to know that our national flag tricolor was hoisted 4 decades back before independence.

Where was the Flag Hoisted?
Actually in August 1906, a rally was organized at Parsi Bagan Chowk (Green Park) in Kolkata to protest the partition of Bengal. It was here that the tricolor flag was hoisted for the first time. This flag had three horizontal stripes, which were red, yellow and green. There was a green band at the top, on which lotus flowers were made. At the same time, there was a yellow strip in the middle, on which ‘Vande Mataram’ was written. Whereas at the bottom there was a red stripe. On which the moon and the sun were made.
