A woman who allegedly falsely accused of gang rape to grab property was arrested on Saturday, a day after she and her three accomplices were booked for forgery and deception. The Delhi woman alleged that five men abducted her and raped her for two days.
Her conspirators Azad, Afzal, and Gaurav were previously arrested.
The woman, Azad, Afzal, and Gaurav were reportedly arrested on Friday under provisions of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) that deal with fraud, forgery, and the use of real documents fraudulently.
They are accused of violating IPC sections 420 (cheating and dishonestly procuring the delivery of property), 467 (forging valuable security), 468 (forging with the intent to defraud), and 471 (fraudulently using as genuine document which the person knows or has reason to believe to be forged), Circle Officer, City-2, Ghaziabad, Alok Dubey, had said.
The 36-year-old woman was found wrapped in a jute bag, with her hands and legs tied, and with an iron rod put in her private areas, according to Swati Maliwal, the head of the Delhi Commission for Women, who made the statement on Wednesday.

However, the Ghaziabad police said during a press conference on Thursday that the woman’s claims that she had been raped and brutalized by the five men were “fabricated” and claimed that a plot had been concocted over a dispute over a “small” piece of land. 4 of the 5 were taken into custody.
Contradictory claims were made by the woman and members of her family, according to a statement published by the National Commission for Women (NCW) on Friday.
