PM Modi: India’s External Affairs Minister has said that India under Prime Minister Modi is unstoppable.S. Jaishankar, who heads India’s Foreign Affairs Ministry made these remarks while meeting the Indian community in Windhoek, Namibia. He was visiting this southwest African country after wrapping up a BRICs meeting in South Africa.BRICS is a five-nation collective of emerging economies like South Africa, Brazil, India, China and Russia.Earlier this month, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh toured Nigeria, which lies on the western coast of Africa.

“We have tremendous goodwill”
While speaking to his audience, the EAM emphasized the vast amount of goodwill India enjoys in Africa and Latin America.
“When as foreign minister I go out in the world, especially in Africa, Latin America and other parts of Asia, I cannot tell you how much goodwill we have, “ told the minister to the assembled guests.
India was one of the few nations which supplied Covid-19 vaccines to small and disadvantaged countries during the pandemic.
When PM Modi visited Papua New Guinea, its head of state bent down and touched Modi’s feet while welcoming him.India also supplied crucial drugs to the United States during the Covid-19 pandemic.
During Modi’s recent visit to Australia, PM Albanese called the Indian PM ‘Boss’.
President Joe Biden said he wanted Modi’s autograph while the two were attending the G7 summit in Tokyo.
Why is Africa important for India?
According to an article published in Outlook last year, Africa is one of the largest trading partners of New Delhi. There was a cumulative investment of $73.9 billion in Africa from 1991 to 2021.
Furthermore, trade between India and Africa stood at $89 billion in 2021-2022 as compared to $56 billion the previous year.
Africa is also home to a large number of Indians, which helps India come closer to African governments.
