In the third ODI of the IND vs. NZ series, he scores back-to-back hundreds. In the meantime, a video of India vs. Sri Lanka fans screaming “Sara-Sara” as Shubman Gill approaches the boundary is becoming popular on social media. For the uninitiated a Team India faced off against the Black Caps in the opening One Day International (ODI) of the three-match series at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium after destroying Sri Lanka in their previous match. The match was set by Gill’s outstanding effort, and the Indian team will be trying to maintain his momentum over the remainder of the series.

Shubhman Gill scored third ODI century

In the 30th over of the Indian innings, Gill scored his third ODI century, breaking the previous ODI records held by senior batsman Shikhar Dhawan and the former captain of India, Virat Kohli. By accomplishing the feat in just 19 ODI appearances—five fewer than Kohli—Gill has broken the record for fastest hitter to 1,000 runs for Team India in the 50-over format.
