Leaders Clash and Supporters Riot During Live Television Show
In an online video that has gone viral, KP Vivekananda Goud is seen momentarily grasping Kuna Srisailam Goud’s throat in front of the host of the programme. Police officers are also seen to step in and diffuse the situation. Both leaders’ supporters may also be seen hurling chairs and destroying the barricades to get to the platform.
Opposition Candidate Attacked on Live TV
Union Minister and president of the BJP state unit G. Kishan Reddy responded to the incident by criticising the ruling BRS and saying it is concerning when an opposition candidate is physically attacked and gets into a public altercation. He expressed alarm about what would happen if the BRS were to retake control.
Calls for Legal Action Against BRS Leader in Live TV Clash
Reddy said that the BJP candidate from Kuna seat was attacked by the BRS MLA from Quthbullapur just because the candidate was unable to adequately respond to the question asked to him. He calls the attack a cowardly gesture. The top BJP official said that his party will take legal action if the police do not bring a case against the BRS leader.
Alleges BJP Candidate’s Provocation in Live TV Clash
Speaking on behalf of the BRS party, Shravan Dasoju claimed that the BJP candidate had incited the MLA by mentioning his father during the debate. He did point out that during the show, they both ought to have behaved properly and politely.
