Viral Video: On Friday, Pune awoke to cloudy skies that quickly gave way to rain that resembled the monsoon. Although the monsoon has not yet officially arrived in the city, the rain and cloudy skies have provided much-needed reprieve from the intense heat of the previous few days, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Early Monsoon Forecast
The monsoon arrived in Maharashtra on Thursday, bringing rain to areas of Kolhapur and Konkan. The monsoon is predicted to completely cover Maharashtra during the course of the next 48 hours, having arrived a day early. There has been mild to heavy rainfall in different locations. A video is going viral on social media. In which a man is lying on a mattress and floating in the water filled on the road due to rain.

An above-normal monsoon is expected for Maharashtra and India, according to IMD. In a state where agrarian distress, a shortage of fodder, and water scarcity are major issues, this would provide a much-needed respite. Sufficient rains will alleviate the problem of water scarcity and provide the upcoming cropping cycle the much-needed boost.
