Viral Video: In an audacious incident reported in the spiritual land of Uttarakhand, four masked miscreants executed loot at a local grocery shop, decamping with huge money and jewelry. The brazen heist has left the local in a pitter state of fear and insecurity.
Robbery Details and Time
The robbery took place last night at around 9:15 pm in a grocery shop located in the Panjhanheri village on Haridwar Laksar Road. As per reports, the robbers, who were armed and wearing masks, barged into the shop and held the shopkeeper at gun-point. After this, they started demanding cash from the shopkeeper’s cash box and managed to loot around 5 lakh rupees. Apart from the cash, the robbers also looted a gold chain, which was around the shopkeeper’s neck, and took off to their heels.
The whole incident was picked up by the shop’s CCTV, which is going to be very important in aiding the investigation. Video footage has been instrumental for police investigating the crime in their hunt for the suspects. The incident has left locals shocked, and people are now living in fear in what was a quiet village.
Community Concerns
According to Bhavna Kenthula, an officer at Kankhal police station in Haridwar, a robbery did take place. She explained that attempts were made by the law enforcement to initiate soap. “As soon as we got the information on the robbery, our team reached the spot. We are checking the CCTV footage and taking inputs from the locality to trace the accused. We have left no stone unturned in the bid to arrest the accused at the earliest,” she said.
The incident has been met with rampant insecurity in the population, who feel that there should be more police officers patrolling in the region and that security should be enhanced. It is expected to restore calm and catch the criminals amid the swift moves by the authorities and the promise of investigation.
