Viral Video: Following a brawl between the bride’s and groom’s families over missing chicken leg pieces in the biryani, a video of the wedding in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, went viral on social media, showing people punching, kicking, and hurling chairs at one another.
Commotion Over Missing Chicken Leg Pieces
According to reports, after the groom’s family and other baraatis protested to missing chicken leg portions in the biryani and started causing a commotion, members of the bride’s family beat them. The groom’s family declined to move forward with the marriage as a result of the situation getting worse. But after much convincing, both sides came to an agreement that allowed the marriage ceremonies to be finished.
Tensions Escalate into Physical Altercation
Reportedly, food was being provided to the baraatis on one side while the wedding rites were being done on the other. Some baraatis did not receive the leg parts in their chicken biryani during this time. When this was disputed by the baraatis. Tensions increased as a result, and the two sides soon began hitting and kicking one other. Along with the baraatis, the groom entered the fray. Someone took a video of the altercation and shared it on social media. As far as the Nawabganj police station is concerned, nobody has reported anything about this incident. If a complaint is received, the police have promised to investigate.
The bridegroom’s side first objected to the wedding and asked the baraatis to depart, according to the baraatis. But in the end, the bride persuaded enough people to settle the issue late at night, and the last few wedding rites were performed.
