Over the weekend, the Buxur Police detained Kanhaiya Kumar for reportedly crossing the border district from the neighbouring UP while drunk. After moving to UP for employment, Kumar, a former inhabitant of the Bihar region of Kaimur, became wasted there.

Alcohol use is prohibited in dry Bihar, and violators risk legal action. He was then imprisoned by the police, and it was there that he sung “Darogaji ho,” a well-known Bhojpuri song. Many music enthusiasts were interested in the song “Sochi-sochi jiya hamro kahe ghabrata.” Police officers could be heard praising his abilities and shouting, “Waah, waah.”

Ankit Tiwari, a well-known Bollywood performer based in Mumbai, was taken aback by Kumar’s sweet voice and offered to have him sing a song for Mist Music Private Limited. Tiwari, who is most known for his “Aashiqui 2” songs, tweeted, “I want to offer this individual an opportunity to sing for my music firm.” Tiwari claimed that while addiction is a societal problem, art has the ability to eradicate it. According to sources, Kumar also had the opportunity to perform for a regional music organisation in Uttar Pradesh. After paying a fine, he was later granted bail and freed.

The sale and use of alcohol were made illegal by the Bihar government’s entire liquor prohibition, which was enacted in April 2016.
