Viral Video: The popular song “Jimmy Jimmy Aaja Aaja” from the 1982 film “Disco Dancer,” composed by Hindi music composer Bappi Lahiri, has ended up being a strange choice for people in China to use in their protests against the government’s “zero Covid” policy. The Covid-19 shutdown has the irate and dissatisfied citizens dancing to Bappi Lahiri’s Jimmy, Jimmy, according to news agency PTI.
The song written by Lahiri and performed by Parvati Khan is called “Jie mi, jie mi” in Douyin, the Chinese name for TikTok, and it is loosely translated as “Give me rice, give me rice.” People may be seen mocking empty vessels in the recordings to demonstrate how they are denied access to necessary food products during the lockdowns.

Snap lockdowns, mass testing, and severe movement restrictions are all part of China’s zero-Covid policy, which has angered the populace.
Social internet has recently been flooded with videos showing authorities cracking down on protesters of the stringent lockdowns. Additionally, Xi removal-related slogans appeared in at least eight Chinese cities.
A subtle protest song in China cleverly uses the Hindi song “Jimmy Jimmy” to draw attention to the misery of the populace.
Chinese box office
From Raj Kapoor’s heyday in the 1950s and 1960s to more recent years, when movies like “3 Idiots,” “Secret Superstar,” “Hindi Medium,” “Dangal,” and “Andhadhun” performed remarkably well at the Chinese box office, Indian films have always had enormous popularity in China, according to PTI.
Social media is tightly watched by the Communist Party of China (CPC), and posts that criticise the leadership are immediately removed. But up until now, it appears that the censors have missed this pattern.
There is also a video showing employees leaving the Foxconn facility in Zhengzhou, which makes up the majority of Apple’s iPhone assembly plants, after a virus epidemic.
Additionally, they complained about the actions taken by the government to control the spread and said they were not treated for Covid.
