Viral Video: A video of an SUV driver fighting with Chandigarh traffic police about breaking the law at a roundabout has gone viral, with the driver claiming to be a’judicial officer’.
Police Attempt to Stop the SUV
The police motioned for the driver to stop, but he pulled the Mahindra Scorpio forward and halted it incorrectly. The incident was caught on camera. A cloth that was hanging in front of the license plate and hiding the number of the car raised questions for the driver.
The driver became defensive and claimed to be a “judicial officer” during the ensuing debate. Additionally, he used his phone to have the police talk to a higher-ranking cop. However, the SUV driver fled the scene as soon as he was asked to show his driver’s license.
Legal Action Taken
At the Sector 49 police station, the police have arrested Prakash Singh, the driver of the SUV, for violating the Indian Penal Code’s Sections 170 (personating a public servant), 186 (obstructing a public servant in the performance of their official duties), and 419 (cheating by personation).
In addition, the accused has been given a challan for running red lights and tampering with number plates. The car will be seized, the police stated.
