Students of IIM Amritsar, one of the best management schools in the nation, are shown sleeping in the Library area in a video that has gone viral on social media as a form of protest against the management for not putting air conditioning (AC) in their dorm rooms.
Scorching Temperatures Fuel Student Protests
The students organized a protest to demand that the administration install air conditioners in their dorm rooms because, according to reports, the aforementioned Library is one of the few locations at the institute with air conditioning. It should be mentioned that Amritsar and other areas of Punjab are experiencing temperatures above 45 degrees due to a heat wave. Many internet users have expressed interest in this strange display by the students of IIM Amirtsar, given the extreme weather that has been plaguing some parts of the nation.

One person wrote, “Management can install the Ac but if they hike the Hostel charges then students starts protesting.” Another person wrote,”Saala Hostel mai Ac kon mangta hai.” One person said, “I am with all my friends, it is very hot, no one will be able to live without AC, the college should install AC in the hostel.”
Commenting on the viral video, one X user wrote, “Having just passed out from IIM amritsar, I can say that the heat is unbearable at times. This demand was put forward last year too but not much was achieved. Temperature is around 45 but feels like 50. Plus one of the temporary hostels is such that you will feel better outside.”
