Viral Video: Social media platforms have led to an increase in the tussle of making viral reels, taking a series of uncalculated risks for just minutes of fame on online platforms. A recent incident in Chamba in this regard, where a young girl slipped into a very deep ditch while recording a reel to increase the number of followers.
Girl Falls Into Deep Ditch While Filming Reel
At first, folks thought that this Viral Video would be the girl’s death knell, as it appeared to capture a grave road accident. But she soon uploaded another video, assuring her followers that she was perfectly fine. She admitted that her foot slipped while filming, but confirmed that she sustained no injuries. Despite falling from a rather significant height, she walked away with not a scratch.
This is not the first time she has risked death for social media fame. Before, she recorded videos of dangerous height stunts which consist of running across large iron bridges and climbing tall trees. Such daredevilry stunts are causing a stir in the minds of youths, whose behavior is getting more dangerous for social media recognition.
Police Appeal for Caution
The clip quickly went viral across various platforms, and in response to this wave of reactions, some people claimed she was lucky while others stated that her video had been digitally altered. Against the backdrop of today’s developments in artificial intelligence, video editing cannot be outrightly ruled out.
“I appeal to the youth at large to stop making videos that threaten their lives. The police are always here to support the public,” said SHO Chamba Police Sanjeev Kumar. District Council Chamba President Dr. Neelam Kumari acknowledged her talent but told her to spread her influence in getting out important public issues rather than risking her life for a viral shot. This incident proves that potential disasters are associated with reckless social media stunts: responsibility and awareness are in order.
