Viral Video: On social media, a video showing a constable being beaten up outside the jail in the Uttar Pradesh district of Raebareli is going viral. Five police officers can be seen beating the constable terribly with sticks in the video. The constable was beaten and thrown to the ground during this as punishment for defending himself. He is saved in the interim by some police officers. It was late Monday night when the entire incident was revealed.
Action taken on policemen who assaulted DG Jail
DG Prison Anand Kumar has also taken action against the assaulting police officers. In a tweet, he announced the immediate suspension of the suspects Vijay Kumar Singh, Saurabh Kumar Verma, Pravesh Kumar Singh, Rajeev Kumar Shukla, and Jaswant Tomar. Against the five constables, a departmental investigation has been started. On the other hand, the injured prisoner’s attacker, Saurabh Verma, has reported Tahrir to the police, accusing him of assault and indecency. The constable has also expressed opposition to the jail superintendent serving as the inquiry officer.
The accused were talking about the problem in food
Constable Mukesh Dubey, who was injured, stated that he was performing his duty in Bhandara. Inside the jail, the defendants manage the canteen. The jail constables who run the canteen have been pressuring them for the past month to interfere with the prisoners’ meals so that the jail’s inmates can take food from the canteen. However, I genuinely did not cut corners when it came to the prisoners’ food.
