Viral video: Elderly man’s mobile phone explodes in pocket, watch video that’s left everyone stunned 

Viral video: A senior citizen, aged 76, in Thrissur district of Kerala, had a fortunate escape from burn injuries when his mobile phone, placed in his shirt pocket, suddenly exploded and caught fire. The incident took place at 10 a.m. on Thursday morning while the man, named Elias, was sitting on a chair, enjoying his coffee at a tea shop located in the Marottichal locality.

While peacefully sitting at a table inside the store, the man appeared relaxed as he savored his tea and a snack. Suddenly, there was a loud explosion as the phone in his shirt pocket erupted in flames. In a state of panic, he made frantic attempts to take out his phone from his pocket. Luckily, his desperate actions paid off, causing the phone to slip out and land on the floor. Miraculously, he managed to escape unscathed, leaving the scene without any harm.

Rise of such incidents 

There has been a rising number of reported incidents where mobile phones unexpectedly explode. There was a recent occurrence in Kozhikode, Kerala, where a man sustained burn injuries due to an explosion caused by a mobile phone kept in his pants pocket. Additionally, on April 24th, an eight-year-old girl from Thrissur lost her life as a result of a mobile phone exploding while she was using it.
