Viral Video: On social media, a video illustrating the connection between humans and animals has gone popular. The 45-second clip shows a langur attending a man’s funeral who fed it everytime it came to his house and took care of it. It can be seen that the concerned animal is attempting to awaken the man who is lying next to him.
The footage, which is thought to be of Batticaloa in eastern Sri Lanka, was posted on Twitter by a user Aslaw CC.
The monkey is seen sitting close to his body among the group of grieving family members and friends. The langur was being moved, but the primate resisted being moved.
The langur takes up the dead man’s hand at one point and shakes it to get his attention. The monkey also tenderly pulls the deceased. Everyone in audience at the man’s funeral who fed the primate whenever it visited his home was taken aback by the langur’s gesture.
