Viral Video: A French climber known as “Spiderman” scaled the Tour Hekla skyscraper in Paris on Sunday in an effort to promote “Peace in the Middle East” as the conflict between Israel and Hamas heats up. The 48-story building in the French capital was scaled by Alain Robert, who stated that Israel and Palestine desperately need to find peace.
Alain Robert’s Symbolic Climb for Middle East Peace
Reaching the summit of the building required two hours of his time. “Today, I am climbing in support of peace. I’m trying not to pick a side, for Palestine or for Israel, but in my opinion, there is one urgent and important thing to do, which is to hear each other out and sign peace accords that are long-lasting, so that Palestine and Israel can both get what they want,” he said.
Alain Robert Calls for Diplomacy
Israel and Palestine have been at war for more than 70 years, he continued, and “at some point, it should stop, solutions must be found.” Leaders of the world should “sit around a table and discuss peace accords that suit both countries,” Robert added. Calls for murdering one another, he claimed, “leads nowhere.”
Urgent Need for Peace to Prevent Potential Global Conflict
“They need to decide for something once and for all. Otherwise, you know, we are on the verge of – and real this time – a World War Three, because if the Muslim countries, they start attacking Israel, it will be horrible, Armageddon,” he said. Robert underlines that “finding peaceful solutions” is more important than “who is right or wrong” in this situation. “There are countries sending billions of dollars for arming people to kill other people. So it just doesn’t work this way,” he added.
More assaults in Gaza against Hamas
Over 6,100 people have died in the most recent round of fighting between Israel and Hamas, which started on October 7th after the Palestinian organisation unexpectedly attacked Israel. The Israeli army has declared that it will launch more assaults in Gaza against Hamas.
