Viral Video: A 26-year-old, Mohammad Nadeem, ignited an Ola Electric showroom in Kalaburagi, North Karnataka, as issues with his electric scooter remained unresolved. In that dramatic incident, the man had been continuing to have problems with the vehicle ever since he bought the scooter on August 28. Nadeem had stormed into the showroom, complaining that no one was addressing his grievances despite him visiting multiple times.
Customer’s Frustration Turns Violent
Authorities further added that the frustration mounted to such an extent that Nadeem decided to get violent. He bought petrol and set the showroom ablaze, which reduced six scooters to cinders. Fortunately, the showroom was closed, and thus there were no injuries or casualties. Fire safety officials managed to reach the spot well in time and doused the flames, thereby containing the damage.
Preliminary police investigations pointed to a possible short circuit as the cause of the fire. Further investigations, however, established that indeed the fire was a premeditated act of arson by Nadeem himself. This incident shows the extent to which some individuals may go when they feel slighted or poorly served by service providers.
Details of the Incident and Investigation
A case has been booked against Nadeem by Kalaburagi Chowk police, who are keeping him in custody for further interrogation. “He had purchased an Ola scooter from the showroom 20 days back. But the scooter had continuous problems. The staff at the showroom did not attend to the problems, despite his repeated visits. Fed up with the problems and the negligence of the staff, he doused the showroom with petrol and put it on fire on Tuesday,” said a senior police officer.
Ghar Ka Kalesh shared a shocking Viral video of the incident on Twitter, which instantly went viral into the town and underlined how serious Nadeem’s act was and what a customer could do if the customer service was poor.
