Viral Video: There was a free-for-all fistfight in a clash between Congress leader Feroz Khan and Nampally MLA Majid Hussain, with the two sides and their respective supporters. The outcome was quite a few injuries on both sides that escalated tension in the area.

Verbal Altercations Escalate to Violence

The incident occurred when party workers and Feroz Khan visited Bank Colony. Their gathering attracted MLA Majid Hussain who alleged that Congress workers were threatening locals and gathering information about newly constructed houses. The situation flared up quickly, as verbal exchanges soon became physical, triggering a brawl in which several party workers were injured.

Viral Video of the incident came out on social media platforms, including X (previously Twitter), from the handle “ghar ka kalesh,” which were painting chaotic scenes. The police happened to be at that location and tried to disperse the swelling crowd but couldn’t get hold of it. They called more officers from the nearby police station for the purpose.

Police Struggle to Control the Unrest

Post the incident, both parties’ leaders visited the police station and complained. Feroz Khan, who has always been a challenger to Nampally’s seat, was disappointed last time around when he lost to AIMIM’s Meraj by 15,000 votes. Since 2009, he has failed to hold the seat and has lost it four times in all.

On the other side, Majid Hussain comes with a distinct political career. He was the mayor of the erstwhile state of Andhra Pradesh in 2012 and was replaced recently by Jaffar Hussain Meraj, who defeated Khan back in 2018 and had shifted to Yakutpura to make way for Hussain. Now, the incident in Humayunnagar reflects the growing political battles as both parties keep up the planning for future elections. Besides the stern fight between Congress and AIMIM, the clash has even sent us wondering about the political climate in the region.
