Viral video: A video is going viral where a group of 20 majestic lions in South Africa’s MalaMala Game Reserve astounded safari-goers as they gathered in a perfectly aligned line to drink water from a sandy river. The awe-inspiring moment was captured on camera and shared on YouTube, where it quickly gained widespread attention and admiration from viewers around the world.

The extraordinary video, titled “20 lions squeeze onto river bank to drink,” was posted on the popular YouTube channel Latest Sightings by Nadav Ossendryver, the founder and CEO of LatestSightings.com. Ossendryver had the privilege of witnessing this extraordinary scene during a morning safari at the renowned MalaMala Game Reserve.
The safari group had set out with the intention of catching a leopard, but luck was not on their side. They were disappointed as they headed for camp, but their surprise soon vanished when they stumbled upon an elephant family bathing in the river of sand. Despite such sightings being relatively common during safaris, the group decided to pause and appreciate the elephants’ playful antics, knowing it was their last drive and an opportunity not to be missed.
Little did they know that another breathtaking sight awaited them. As they were observing the elephants, two ears emerged from behind them, revealing the presence of a lion. With bated breath, the onlookers watched as the lion gracefully descended the ridge and proceeded to drink water just a few meters away. But the surprises did not end there.
One by one, 20 lions from the Kambula Lion Pride joined the lion near the river, forming an awe-inspiring line. It was an incredibly rare occurrence to witness such a gathering of lions at a river bank and even more extraordinary to see them drinking in perfect alignment. Ossendryver described the experience as if their prayers had been answered, with the lions creating a mesmerizing sight right in front of their eyes.
