Viral Video: After a rollercoaster called ‘The Rage’ stopped at 72 feet height, a group of people were left stranded. The roller coaster stopped midway at Adventure Island, a popular seaside resort in Southend, England. The ride was abruptly halted, causing a panic among the thrill-seekers who were left hanging in the balance. Eyewitnesses have said that those on board had to be harnessed and rescued at the amusement park. A viral video also shows the roller coaster breaking down midway as the passengers remained trapped.
Ride of a lifetime
Thrill-seekers were prepared for the ride of their lifetime when they boarded the rollercoaster to quench their adventure thirst. What was supposed to be a fulfilling experience turned into a bone-chilling account after they were left midway in the air during the rollercoaster ride.
The rollercoaster reportedly got stuck during its ascent just before 2 pm, leaving a mother with her six-year-old daughter stranded. “They had to be harnessed and rescued down. It got stuck, it’s the big one there that goes through the loop – it goes up, God knows high, and then straight back down and then loops. It literally just got stuck, right at the top,” the woman was quoted as saying by The Mirror. Check out the viral video below:
Staff’s prompt response saves the day
Those who were stranded were left up in the air for an estimated period of at least half an hour. The good part about the entire episode was that the park’s staff turned on their practice mode, immediately rushing to carry out rescue operations. A considerable crowd was also seen looking after the situation, ready to extend any help whatsoever possible.
The Rage is a Gerstlauer Euro-Fighter model which offers passengers adrenaline rush with its super adventures rides that transport them on a roller coaster journey that includes a drop of over 90 degrees celsius.
In a similar incident earlier this month, another group of adrenaline enthusiasts experienced similar situation at Alton Towers. No major was reported during any of the incidents.
