Viral Video: Inside the Supreme Court grounds on Tuesday, a journalist questioned Baba Ramdev about his recommendation to treat COVID-19 incorrectly through Coronil was given a twisted look by one of his security guards. The incident’s footage has emerged on social media and is presently gaining viral popularity.
Persistent Approach by Journalist
In the footage, it is evident that a journalist continuously approached Baba Ramdev, his close aide, and the managing director of Patanjali Ayurved, Acharya Balkrishna, while they were leaving the Supreme Court grounds under heavy security. The Yoga guru did not reply, though.
Journalist’s Questions to Baba Ramdev
“Why did you suggest using Coronil to administer the incorrect treatment? The reporter continued, “Why did he lie in the Supreme Court?” to Baba Ramdev. In response, a Baba Ramdev security guard tried to stop the reporter from asking any more questions by twisting his hands.
In response, the reporter questioned the security officers about why he was unable to hold and twist his hand in this manner. “I’m just asking questions and not doing anything; you can’t do this.” However, the journalist persisted in asking the same questions to the very end of the film, but Baba Ramdev did not respond.
Supreme Court Criticism of Patanjali Ayurved
On Tuesday, the Supreme Court harshly criticised Patanjali Ayurved Acharya Balkrishna, the managing director, and yoga guru Ramdev for their “absolute defiance” in breaking “every barrier” and failing to provide the required affidavits of compliance in the case involving the false marketing.
The Drugs and Cosmetics (Magic Remedies) Act’s claim that Patanjali MD made was likewise deemed “archaic” by it. A bench made up of Justices Hima Kohli and Ahsanuddin Amanullah declared, “Not just the Supreme Court, every order passed by the courts across this country has to be respected… this is absolute defiance.”
The bench warned the in-person Patanjali MD and Ramdev, “You have to abide by undertaking given to court and you have broken every barrier.”
