A recent incident from Guntur district in Andhra Pradesh speaks volumes on the latter, wherein some enthusiastic group of alcohol lovers went to unbelievable extents in pursuit of their addiction.
Seized Liquor Bottles Scheduled for Destruction at Guntur Dumping Yard
The incident occurred at a time when Guntur Police had gone to break seized bottles of illegal liquor at a dumping yard along the Etukuru Road, which were to be disposed of as part of enforcement against illegal alcohol. However, as the police began smashing them, a mob quickly collected and, in an unexpected turn of events, went on to loot liquor bottles right in front of the police personnel. The whole incident was captured on camera, which has gone viral on social media, evoking a flurry of reactions from social media users across the country.
In the Viral video shared by a user named ‘Anil’ on the social media platform X, many ran and started collecting as many bottles as possible, with no sense of the presence of police around them. Later, Guntur Police confirmed that the seized liquor was indeed illegal and planned to be destroyed. Still, before this happened, the crowd managed to loot a fair amount of bottles from them.
