Viral Video: A Maulana was accused of molesting a girl under the guise of exorcism in a shocking incident that came from Agwanpur in the Civil Lines police station area of the Moradabad district, in Uttar Pradesh. This alarming case does certainly raise very serious questions over the safety of vulnerable individuals seeking spiritual help. She herself acted. She lodged a sensational charge against Maulana before a local panchayat and, as an eyewitness corroborates, thrashed him with slippers. A Mother’s Horrifying Discovery in Viral Video
In the viral video which has been shared on x (formally Twitter) by ghar ka kalesh we can see it was Maulana who had been giving religious education to children and declaring that he had the power to throw away ghosts which was approached by the mother when her girl child was ill for some days. He told her that the girl was sick because she was captured by ghosts. He was permitted to ask for payment to perform exorcism ritual by the mother as he believed him.
The Maulana ordered all family members out of the room. He issued a warning to anyone who had stayed in the room that they, too, would be at risk of possession. The family obeyed his order and vacated the room, leaving the girl in the room with the Maulana. Much later, as he failed to come out, the mother’s anxiety grew and she started looking for her daughter. What she found had left her horrified: her daughter was in a disturbed state, and her dress was disheveled.
Public Confrontation at the Panchayat
The enraged mother without wasting any further time contacted the Maulana’s relatives and other community members and proceeded to call a panchayat meet. It is there that the confrontation took place when the woman herself revealed the Maulana naked and started flogging him in public, an act captured by onlookers.
The police department hasn’t received an official complaint yet, though the video is circulating with the community up in an outcry about the issue. Authorities maintained they will take proper legal action if a complaint is lodged and are conducting an investigation on the case. This case pointed to the very present necessity of vigilance on exploitative practices that hide under the disguise of spiritual guidance, to uphold the need for protecting the vulnerable from oppressive behavior.
