The footage was published on social media by journalist and social activist Deepika Narayan Bhardwaj, who commented, “Feel terrible for kids around these reel monsters.” In the video, the mother can be seen standing with the child and turning her back to the camera. She holds a cigarette in her fingers and looks directly at the camera throughout the entire video.
Deepika Narayan Bhardwaj said in response to her post that she had browsed the woman’s social media timeline but had not seen the youngster in any other videos. “She must have taken someone’s child,” she continued. Deepika also included a copy of her conversation with the woman in the video in the thread. The mother claimed that Deepika Narayan had exposed the infant to the public, claiming that the child had been coughing for two weeks. She added that the toddler is the child of her sister, for whom she purchased prescription drugs.

Digital storyteller Neelesh Misra shared the video again and said that smoking with a baby is something that will soon be forgotten. “This is Crime.” He also tagged the official X handles of the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) and NCPCR Chairperson Priyank Kanoongo.

Secondhand smoke can have a devastating impact on babies, increasing their risk of sudden infant death syndrome, respiratory issues, ear infections, and even affecting their brain development.
