Viral video: In a heart-wrenching incident, an SUV hit two men riding a bike on the intervening night of April 29 and 30. The accident took place at the intersection of Delhi’s Kasturba Gandhi Marg and Tolstoy Marg. After the car hit the bike, two Mukul (20) jumped from the riding bike, while Dipanshu Verma (30) fell on the roof of the car. However, the SUV didn’t stop and continued to carry Dipanshu’s body on the roof for around 3 kilometers.
SUV carried man’s body for three Kms
The SUV driver kept driving despite the body falling atop of it. An eyewitness, Mohammad Bilal, followed the car on his car and made several attempts to stop the car. However, despite his intense honking and shouting, the car did not stop. The accused stopped at the India Gate where he threw Dipanshu’s body and fled.
Case registered
The Delhi Police has registered a case against the matter. The man identified as Harneet Singh Chawla has been arrested. His family was also in the car with him. Meanwhile, Dipanshu has died, while his cousin Mukul is currently in critical condition.
