Viral Video: Although most people identify a high-end vehicle like an Audi with comfort and luxury, Mannu Sharma and Amit Kashyap used it as inspiration to open their own tea shop in this location. For the past six months, Sharma and Kashyap have been selling tea out of the trunk of a luxury automobile worth Rs 70 lakh in the affluent Lokhandwala neighbourhood of Andheri’s western neighbourhood for Rs 20, and they just became popular on social media.
Serves Tea-on-the-Go from a Luxury Audi
Mumbai’s streets are famous for their cutting chai, which is sold at inexpensive shops known as “tapris” (stalls) all across the city. ‘We were simply out for a nighttime stroll and in need of a cup of tea, but we were unable to locate a location at the time. That’s when we considered setting up shop here,’ said Sharma, a native of Haryana. The pair’s novel concept to sell ‘OD Tea,’ short for on-drive tea, from their Audi has gained widespread attention on social media, but the flavour of their offering has also attracted customers.
Mumbai Duo Set to Launch ‘OD Tea’ Franchises
The two friends are currently enjoying the support they have received from their clients and on social media, and they have future plans to launch “OD tea” franchises, beginning in Mumbai. Before choosing a recipe and starting to serve tea from their luxury wheels, the pair spent a month perfecting the art of preparing tea at home and experimenting with various methods.
