Viral Video: The police reported on Wednesday that a 22-year-old man was killed when he was struck by a train at the Qutab Minar Metro station in Delhi while he was crossing the tracks. They also mentioned that the incident happened on November 12.

Tragic Incident at Railway Station


After being mangled between the platform and the train, the man was taken to the hospital and, upon arrival, was pronounced deceased. According to the police, the body was housed in the trauma centre mortuary at AIIMS. The man had “SUNIL” tattooed on his right forearm and was dressed in blue jeans and a yellow shirt. On November 23, the “unidentified” body was put through an autopsy. To determine whether the man was drunk, blood samples have been collected. According to the officer, his teeth have been preserved for identification purposes.

Viral Video Emerges on Social Media

On social media, a supposedly recorded video of the incident is making the rounds. It shows the person being struck between the platform and the tracks. Passengers are advised by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation never to attempt crossing the street without permission or to walk on the metro tracks.

DMRC’s Official Statement on the Incident

Regarding a video that has gone viral on some media sites, it is made clear that this is related to an event that happened on November 12 at Qutab Minar station. The passenger became trapped between the platform edge and the oncoming train while attempting to cross between platforms in an unauthorised manner using the tracks, the DMRC stated in a statement.

Immediate Medical Assistance

According to the statement, the train operator quickly engaged the emergency brakes, and station personnel quickly transported the passenger to the AIIMS trauma centre. The statement also stated that passengers are strongly advised not to attempt to enter restricted areas or cross or walk on metro tracks without authorization.
