Viral video: In a tragic incident that unfolded in Salem, Tamil Nadu, a 45-year-old woman took her own life by jumping in front of a speeding bus in an attempt to secure compensation from the government to pay for her children’s college fees.

The woman, identified as Paapaathi, had been working as a sanitation worker in the District Collectorate Office and had been solely responsible for raising her daughter and son for the past 15 years following her separation from her husband.
The footage shows Paapaathi who initially tried to jump in front of a two-wheeler but by god grace she survived. But looks like she doesn’t wanted to live so she cross the road and suddenly jumped in front of a bus and dies on the spot.
After the incident friends and family were called for questioning in which they told police that Paapaathi was looking for loans from each and everyone she knew but wasn’t able to collect the amount which was 45,000 which was needed to pay the fees of his sons college. Police discovered that she had been misinformed about compensation for the family of a deceased sanitation worker, leading her to believe that her tragic act would alleviate their financial burden.
Misguided information led to fatal decision
According to police sources, Paapaathi had been battling depression as she struggled to afford her children’s college fees. In a misguided belief, she had heard someone mention that if she died in a road accident, the government would provide compensation. This notion led her to make a desperate and tragic decision.
