Viral Video: When an Xbox controller from Amazon arrived with a snake inside, a Bengaluru couple was taken aback. A cobra that was unable to free itself from packaging tape was seen in the video. With the Amazon delivery stored in a red bucket, the viral video began. The poisonous snake was visible embedded in the black duct tape bearing the words Amazon Prime. The snake was wriggling and appeared to be attempting to slither out.
Direct Delivery Raises Safety Concerns
Sharing the video on X, a user Ghar ka kalesh wrote, “A woman in Bengaluru had ordered some goods from an e-commerce site but when she received the order, it contained a live snake.” “We ordered an Xbox controller 2 days ago from Amazon and received a live snake in the package. The package was directly handed over to us by the delivery partner (not left outside). We live on Sarjapur road and captured the entire incident on camera, plus we have eyewitnesses to the same,” the customer told India Today.
Customer Questions Accountability and Safety Measures
The consumer questioned the outlet about the risk this incident caused to their lives even though they were informed they had received a refund. “We did receive a complete refund, but what do we get for risking our lives here with a highly venomous snake? This is clearly a safety breach caused solely by Amazon’s negligence and their poor transportation/warehousing hygiene and supervision. Where is the accountability for such a serious lapse in safety?” the customer added.
