One video, however, has grabbed the maximum eyeballs and criticism. It shows water dripping from the roof of the newly constructed Parliament House in Delhi. This footage has now become the talking point of criticism against the BJP-led government. In the video, shared on social media by former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and MP from Kannauj Akhilesh Yadav, he shows the video of water leaking from the roof with a blue bucket kept below to collect the dripping water.

Akhilesh Yadav’s Sarcastic Critique

Akhilesh Yadav posted a video in which he, in a sarcastic tone, questioned the quality of this new Parliament House as compared to the old Parliament building. He had written, “The old Parliament was better than this new Parliament where the old MPs could also come and meet.”. Why not go back to the old Parliament, at least till the time the program of water dripping is going on in the Parliament built with billions of rupees. The public is asking whether the water dripping from every new roof built under the BJP government is a part of their well thought out design or….

The video has fueled a wave of criticism from various quarters, with Congress leaders and other opposition figures seizing the opportunity to mock the BJP government. Once again, issues related to the quality and monitoring mechanisms in case of high-profile infrastructure projects have surfaced, adding to the worries of the government amidst the heavy rain and related disruptions.
