Viral Video: What could have been a simple visit to the forest became a dramatic turn of events in Kalyanpur village, Kundam tehsil, Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. On Sunday morning, Ram Sahai, a villager, had gone out to the forest to ease himself when he ran into a 15-foot-long python.

Sahai’s Terrifying Encounter

Sahai was squatting in the forest when the big python charged, wrapping its powerful body around his neck and squeezing to eat him. The grip was very heavy; he could hardly breathe. Though the python was holding him tight, Sahai managed to hold the mouth of it and started shouting for help. His cries echoed across the silent forest and reached those villagers who were standing nearby.

Hearing his frantic yells, the villagers rushed to the spot. Confronted with the gory scene and having nothing to wrest the python away safely from the clutches of the serpent, they began attacking the snake with axes, stones, and other sharp weapons. After long struggling, they succeeded in killing the python and rescued Sahai from its deadly grip.

The Incident Goes Viral

The incident has since gone viral, with the video capturing the dramatic rescue spreading like a wildfire on social media. Forest department officials said the killing of the python, done to save a human life, comes within the ambit of the law. According to the rules, such acts are not crimes when done in self-defense or to save others. Video has been posted on Twitter by Ghar ka Kalesh.

Ram Sahai described the terrifying moment, elaborating how he wrestled for 20 minutes against the tightening clutch of the python. His brave struggle and quick thinking by the villagers saved him. It points out the risks of wildlife encounters and how brave it is for one to rush to the aid of others in these terrifying situations.
