Viral Video: In a high-voltage drama late into the night on Friday, Noida police busted an illegal rave party being held at a posh flat in Supernova Society, Sector 94. The party, which was organized by college students, had more than 50 people in attendance and has sparked fear among residents and the district administration alike.

Liquor Bottles Scattered and Many Inebriated at Noida Rave Party

The raid that the cops carried out has exposed an open revelry with many bottles of liquor sprawled across the premises. Many of those present were found in an inebriated state, and most are believed to be below 21 years of age, the legal drinking age in Uttar Pradesh. The presence of minors at the party has thrown up dangerous and legal implications of such parties.

Eyewitnesses within the residential complex revealed that the students were disrespectful to members of society when they confronted them. The matter escalated further as some of the partygoers were reported to have thrown alcohol bottles from the balcony, thus causing a public commotion and putting other people’s lives at risk.

WhatsApp Invitations

Further investigation revealed that WhatsApp invites were sent out for the rave. “Total blast” was the message, giving out details of entry fees, which were ₹500 for females, ₹800 for couples, and ₹1,000 for males. The kind of methods in use to organize and propagate such illegal events raise questions regarding how easily such gatherings are arranged and the deeper consequences this has on community safety.

Debate on Safety

Acting on a tip-off, the Sector 126 police immediately rushed to the spot and detained 39 people, which included four of its primary organizers. According to the police, official cases have been filed against the five primary organizers and 35 others. Investigation by the Sector 126 police station is still underway and further legal action will follow.

This incident really raises the debate on the safety of social events taking place within upscale residential areas and how tighter enforcement measures, with community vigilance, should be in place to avoid a repetition in the future.
