Masood made these comments comparing the Muslim population in Saharanpur (42%) to Gujarat’s (4%). His violent threat against Modi was delivered during an election rally 10 years ago. The video is now drawing intense criticism on social media.
The Viral Video, shared by an X user named Sachin Gupta, received widespread condemnation. One user said, “Leaders need to be cautious with their words.” Another remarked, “Such provocative speeches can lead to serious consequences.”
Legal Action and Framing of Charges
A case was filed against Congress MP Imran Masood back in 2014. Special Judge Mohit Sharma framed the charges based on statements from 19 villagers. Masood is facing multiple charges, including promoting enmity (153A), insulting religious sentiments (295A), and other sections under the SC/ST Act.
Imran Masood Denies Allegations, Claims Video is Edited
Masood’s lawyer, Anwar Ahmed Siddiqui, argued that the Viral Video was edited and not forensically examined. He also claimed that government approval was not obtained before filing the case. Masood firmly denied the accusations, insisting his remarks were misinterpreted and expressing confidence that the truth would emerge during the trial.
