These days, air-conditioned taxis are more popular than auto-rickshaws, especially in the intense heat of this summer. But occasionally, drivers are reluctant to put on the air conditioning because they believe it will lower their mileage and raise their fuel expenses. Owing to this worry, the Ola, Uber cab driver was forced to put up a sign informing the customers that an air conditioner inside the car is available for an additional fee.

The Driver Uses Notice for Passengers

The passengers’ attention is drawn to the note scrawled on the rear seat, which begins, “Dear Ola / Uber customers”. The note says, “The company has already broken our back with 30–40% commission; do not force the driver to commit suicide by demanding AC. We kindly ask for your assistance as long as this firm ignores us drivers and sets our rates. There will be an additional fee of Rs 5 per kilometre if you require air conditioning.”

The picture of this note was shared online by an X user and it has garnered attention online from the online users. They were quick to react to the video and started criticizing firms and the cab driver. However, some users showed their support for the note as well.

Netizens reacted to the video

One user wrote, “Toh who in earth has asked them to be with companies… bhaiya they r bringing u the customers.” Another user wrote,  “This driver seems to be a more of an opportunist and fraud. He should move out of the business if that doesn’t suit him.” The third user wrote, “Did anybody force them to drive? They can leave and do something else. Like drive for themselves, start their own company, go back to being paid peanuts by dalals. Nobody is beating them and making them work for Uber.”
