Viral Video: During the ongoing Chhath 2024 festival, trains across India are packed with passengers. In the midst of this rush, a viral video from an Indian Railways train has captured public attention. The video shows a policeman traveling without a ticket who engages in a heated dispute with a Ticket Examiner (TTE) attempting to enforce the rules. Recorded by a fellow passenger and shared widely on social media, this incident has sparked debates over accountability and fair conduct in public transport.
Viral Video: TTE Confronts Policeman Traveling Without a Ticket
The viral video, posted on X (formerly Twitter) by the account “Ghar Ke Kalesh” on November 5, depicts a tense exchange between the TTE and the policeman. As seen in the footage, the TTE, in his role to ensure all passengers possess valid tickets, approaches the officer and requests him to leave the seat due to the lack of a ticket. Rather than complying, the policeman responds aggressively, leading to a verbal clash.
During the argument, the TTE remarks, “Eat for free, travel for free…” pointing to the officer’s failure to follow ticketing regulations. The policeman counters, demanding that he be spoken to respectfully, despite being in violation of the rules. This exchange escalates the situation as the TTE maintains his stance, committed to upholding his duties for Indian Railways.
Netizens React: “Rules Should Be the Same for Everyone”
The viral video quickly gained traction online, receiving over 56,000 views and sparking numerous reactions. Several commenters voiced frustration, alleging that uniformed officials often expect leniency. Many online users urged for equal accountability in public spaces.
One commenter stated, “Rules are rules. Either you’re a collector or CM, everyone must follow them.” Another added, “Well done! Rules should apply equally to everyone.” A third remarked, “These uniformed freeloaders never miss an opportunity for freebies. Good to see the TTE standing up for what’s right.” Another netizen noted, “When you get a taste of your own medicine,” expressing satisfaction at seeing the officer held accountable.
