Floodwaters Wash Away Culvert on New Railway Line in Pilibhit; Viral Video Shows Locals Walking on Tracks Amid Heavy Rain

Viral Video

Viral Video: In a shocking turn of events, a culvert on the recently built Pilibhit railway line washed away by flooding from the Sharda River. The region’s train operations have been suspended as a result of this occurrence. The railway tracks remain still as the culvert is washed away, as shown in the now-viral video of the incident. In spite of the constant rain, locals can be seen walking on the tracks.

Floods Disrupt Railway Operations

The situation in Pilibhit has been further exacerbated by a road collapse in the area, with floodwaters inundating numerous villages. Reports indicate that nearly 20 villages have lost contact with the district headquarters, making rescue and relief operations challenging.

North Eastern Railway’s Official Update

The North Eastern Railway has provided an update on the situation through their official X handle. The statement reads, “Due to heavy rains and floods, there has been a breach between Shahgarh – Mala stations, due to which train movement on this section has been stopped. The concerned officials have reached the site and necessary material is being transported to the site to repair the breach.”
