Mumbai Local Train

Viral Video: A recent viral video has shone a spotlight on the daily chaos of Mumbai’s overcrowded local trains, where securing a seat can sometimes lead to unexpected clashes. The video captures a heated brawl between two commuters who engaged in a physical altercation over limited seating space. While such scenes are not entirely uncommon in Mumbai’s bustling trains, what stood out was the intervention of a fellow passenger who played the role of peacemaker.

The Mumbai Local Train Saga

For many years, the Mumbai Suburban Railway, lovingly called the ‘local,’ has been the lifeline of the city. It’s how millions of people in Mumbai get to work, school, and home. But riding these trains every day can be tough. They are often very crowded, and people compete fiercely for seats.

Recently, a video became really popular on social media which shows that what a difficult task it is to find a seat in the Mumbai locals. As two men gets involved in a heated argument regarding the seat, the situation gets so much worsened that they even started beating one another.

During the middle of their fight, one passenger came in between to stop them both from fighting. This brave person stepped in and separated the fighting passengers. This helped the situation to cool down and stopped it from taking a bad turn.

Netizens reacted to the viral video

The video was posted on twitter page of Mumbai Matters. One user commented, “Not surprising that the guy who intervened and ensured the fight did not escalate had his backpack in front of his chest. These are the people who’ve been there through humidity and rain, and seen it all.” Another user commented, “Kya halat ho gayi hai Mumbai ki.. Gutter of humans. and kide of gutter.” One of them commented, “The amount of frustration that this city generates in humans is really untenable.”
