Viral Video: A video has gone viral in which a Mumbai-based woman, Swati, calls out BharatMatrimony for allegedly using her image to create a fake profile under their elite subscription service. Swati claims that users pay a premium fee expecting verified profiles, but BharatMatrimony is instead presenting fake profiles, sparking concerns about their credibility.
BharatMatrimony Scam Goes Viral
In the viral video, posted by the account Ghar ke Kalesh, Swati calls out BharatMatrimony for using her image in a fabricated profile listed under their “elite” subscription service. The video, which has already garnered over 184k views, reveals that BharatMatrimony charges users substantial fees while allegedly creating profiles that lack authenticity and proper verification.
In the video, Swati explains, “They have created a profile of mine. For the record, this is my husband, and no, I didn’t find him on any matrimonial site.” Her image was used to create a fake profile under the name “Nithya Raja Sekar,” a supposed fitness professional from Chennai, Tamil Nadu, within BharatMatrimony’s elite subscription.
Swati’s sharp critique continues with her asking, “How on earth are you doing it?” questioning BharatMatrimony’s claim of thorough profile vetting. She warns viewers, saying, “This is a reminder to all users to exercise discretion before using these apps. What you see is not always what you get.”
Netizens Call Out BharatMatrimony’s Lack of Authenticity
The video has stirred significant outrage online, with many netizens sharing their concerns in the comments. One user wrote, “Wherever you look, there is anarchy. In the digital age, this chaos is increasing continuously.” Another added, “Biggest scam.”
A third commenter raised concerns about the lack of verification on BharatMatrimony, stating, “It’s concerning that matrimonial apps are failing to cross-verify images. This oversight compromises the platform’s integrity and users’ security. Verification should be stringent and transparent.” A fourth user echoed this sentiment, calling for stricter action, saying, “They just put anyone’s photo from the internet – that’s a big scam, and the police need to take strict action against them.”
This viral video has drawn widespread attention to BharatMatrimony’s practices, raising serious questions about the integrity and trustworthiness of matrimonial platforms that handle sensitive information.
