Social media users have been posting videos of Kanwariyas engaging in violent and harmful behaviour for a variety of causes. A new video showing the same incident has gone viral today.
Transgender Person Attacked in Kanwar Camp
A startling occurrence from Ghaziabad, Western Uttar Pradesh, has surfaced. At a Kanwar camp, a transgender person was allegedly beaten by Kanwariyas for stealing. The individual is seen being chased and beaten in the now-viral footage. The person was saved from the angry mob by the local police, who intervened in time. On social media, this occurrence has spurred a flurry of reactions.
A bunch of Kanwariyas is shown in a video that is quickly becoming viral on social media abusing a transgender person. Police officials and a few Kanwariyas are also seen in the video attempting to halt the attack. Over 27,000 people have watched this video, which was uploaded by Sachin Gupta, an X handle user.

After the video went viral, netizens were quick to share their views on the disturbing incident. One user on X remarked, “Soo sad Police Helpless in Ghaziabad Uttar Pradesh.” Another commented, “Even transgenders are not spared. It is not right to go out on the road. Go out only if it is very important. The storm comes as fast as it goes.” A third user added, “UP law & order is in hands of Kanwariyas…. not in control of UP Police.”
CM Yogi’s Special Appeal to Kanwariyas
In light of recent incidents of violence and vandalism by Kanwariyas, the government and administration are on high alert. CM Yogi Adityanath recently made a special appeal to the Kanwariyas, stressing the importance of self-discipline during the Kanwar Yatra. He emphasized that achieving ‘Shivatva’ (divinity) requires maintaining self-discipline. CM Yogi assured that the administration respects the faith of the Kanwariyas and urged them to cooperate with the authorities to ensure a peaceful and successful pilgrimage.
