Viral Video: A private car bearing a “POLICE” sticker in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, was severely vandalised by Kanwariyas near the Madhuban Bapudham police station. The incident, which was caught on camera, has gone viral on social media. The crowd became enraged when the car unintentionally drove into a lane designated for Kanwariyas. Even with the siren and ‘cops’ sticker, the cops made it clear that this was a private and not an official police vehicles. On the Delhi-Meerut Road, the incident happened close to Duhai.

Viral Video Shows Kanwariyas Wreck Car in Ghaziabad

The video was uploaded on the social media platform X by a user named Sachin Sharma, who captioned it, “According to Ghaziabad Police- ”This private vehicle was working in the vigilance department of the power corporation. A Kanwariya was hit by its side, but the Kanwar was not broken. This infuriated the Kanwariyas and they vandalized and overturned the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle is in police custody.”

Netizens React to the Viral Video

As the video spread online, netizens quickly expressed their outrage. One user commented, “Kanoon ka bhi dar nhi.” Another questioned, “Lathi charge kyun nahi karti Police in pe? Kya aasta ke naam pe sab kuch maaf hai?” A third user sarcastically asked, “Bada sawal.. kya gaadi todkar aur palat kar khandit kaanwar wapas sahi ho gaye?” Another pointed out the perceived injustice, saying, “Instead of punishing these goons, the police are targeting the driver. Is that justified? What actions have been taken against these goons for the violence and nuisance they caused?”

Yogi Adityanath Urges Kanwariyas for Self-Discipline

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath speaking to ANI, said, “Lord Shiva’s auspicious month of Sawan has already commenced. The Kanwar Yatra of Sawan month is known worldwide. Devotees of Lord Shiva perform Jalabhishek at Shiva temples throughout the state and country. For their safe and secure Yatra, proper arrangements have been made by the state and central governments to ensure no one faces any issues. It’s my humble request to all devotees that we are all Shiva devotees, and His blessing is always upon us. None of the worship is possible without self-discipline. We are seeing that not only the government but people from different societies are serving the Kanwar Yatris with utmost faith.”
