Viral Video: Floods are extremely scary occurrences, consisting of fast-moving water that can uproot trees, destroy buildings, and obliterate bridges. Walls of water can reach heights of 10 to 20 feet and generally are accompanied by a deadly cargo of debris.
However, one woman didn’t get the memo about the danger of floods. A hilarious video is going viral of a woman wading through a flood-ridden street in a safety vest, with a selfie stick, recording every moment.
The video begins with the woman recording herself running through shallow waters explaining something in another language. As the video progresses, we can see another person running behind her, also with a selfie stick in hand. Eventually, the woman begins running, realising that something is coming, when a torrent of water rushes in and nearly drowns her. However, she continues smiling and laughing, as if she is on a ride at a water park.
The video, posted by Twitter user @TheFigen has gathered about 5 lakh views, and over 15 thousand comments. The caption of the video reads, “The first thing to do during a flood is to take a selfie stick!”
Netizens were simultaneously horrified and amused by the “fearless” woman and what her actions prove about people’s obsession with their phones.
