A Pakistan Court has issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against Former Prime Minister Imran Khan in Toshakhana case and was granted bail in three other cases. There was high drama outside the court premises as thousands of supporters of Imran Khan converged to support their embattled leader, raised slogans and disrupted vehicular movement coming at the judicial complex. This prompted security officials to beef up security.
Court issues Non Bailable arrest warrant against Imran Khan in Toshkhana case
This was Imran Khan’s first appearance in Islamabad, after being shot dead at a rally at a public rally in November last year. The Additional sessions judge Zafar Iqbal issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against Former Prime Minister in Toshakhana case. Other cases lodged against him include prohibited funding case at a banking court, terrorism case at anti-terrorism court and attempt to murder case at the sessions court.
The court also adjourned the hearing till March 7 for Imran Khan’s repeated failure to appear at court.

Toshakhana Case accusation against Imran Khan
In Toshakhana case Imran Khan has been accused of buying gifts, including expensive Graff wristwatch which he had received as Prime Minister at a discounted price from the state depository called Toshakhana and selling them for a profit.
Imran Khan in combative mood, since losing power
Khan had lost Prime Ministership in April 2022, after losing his majority in National Assembly of Pakistan. He has alleged that his ouster from power was a part of US-led conspiracy which targeted him because of his independent foreign policy decisions on Russia, China and Afghanistan. Imran Khan when in power was referred to as a selected Prime Minister, because his party PTI rode to power due to the backing of Pakistan Army. He is the only Prime Minister in Pakistan to be ousted in a no-confidence vote in Parliament.
Since his ouster Imran has hit the streets of Pakistan and has initiated high pitched campaign to again reclaim the seat of power in Islamabad. Imran Khan has been clamoring for immediate elections to oust what he termed was an “imported government” led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Khan. In the Meantime , Sharrief has maintained that elections will be held later this year once National Assembly completes its five year term.
